Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is home to the latest technologies and systems to help us produce high-quality, innovative pet food and treats your furry best friends love. With an emphasis on premium and super premium dog and cat foods, we consistently deliver the highest quality products to both retailers and customers.
Our uncompromising focus on food safety and quality
Food safety is at the core of our facility, exceeding industry requirements. We have maintained compliance with Safe Quality Foods (SQF) since June 2013.
In addition, all air entering the plant is HEPA filtered to create positive airflow and separate finished goods from packaging. Our QA team members participate nationally on PFI and AFIA Quality and Food Safety committees. Quality KPIs are reviewed monthly to ensure we’re continually improving the food quality your pet deserves.
Our history
Our founder, Kevin Kruse, had a college project that needed to be completed for his Bachelor of Science degree. At the time, his father had a successful manufacturing business of dairy, poultry and livestock feeds. Kevin’s vision was to install a cooking extruder processing system that would be used to manufacture dry dog and floating fish food products for O.H. Kruse Grain & Milling to expand their product portfolio into dog food.
Our manufacturing capabilities have expanded, but our story has remained the same—it’s always been about our customers and delivering products with a superior experience in a safe, family-oriented environment to create long-term value.
1987
2012
Kibble plant opens
Our 150,000-kibble warehouse has an annual capacity of 165,000 tons, allowing us to produce a wide range of dog and cat kibble—from meat-first to grain free and more.
2014
Biscuit plant opens
Our baked plant has an annual capacity of 23,000 tons and ability to hold 28,000 lbs. of biscuits in storeveyors and 45,000 lbs. in stand-up bins at a time––allowing us to produce a wide variety of biscuit types and sizes.
2018
Plant expansion
Plant expansion to 360,000 square feet of manufacturing, packaging, warehouse and office space.
2021
Distribution center opens in Visalia, California
Visalia, California, distribution center opens, in partnership with Redwood Logistics.
2023
Joins Post Holdings
Perfection Pet Foods was acquired by Post Holdings and became part of the Post Consumer Brands manufacturing network.
2025 and beyond
Increase in manufacturing capacity
Additional automation, storage bins, extrusion and packaging equipment will be added to increase capacity.
