Interns at Post Consumer Brands have the opportunity to lead and take part in projects that result in real change and drive results. This summer, our interns worked on everything from brand strategy development to new quality control and food safety practices. In addition to their projects, they spent time learning about Post Consumer Brands, meeting team members and developing as professionals throughout the summer.
Beth Stevermer, Quality Food Safety Intern – Allergen Label Verification Check
Beth created an additional allergen label verification check within our current systems. Post Consumer Brands packaging operators are now able to more efficiently verify the allergen statements.
Kat Van Hulle, Brand Marketing Intern – Grape-Nuts Brand Strategy
The Grape-Nuts cereal brand saw increased momentum during the pandemic after a brief shortage. To capitalize on this, Kat recommended a three-year marketing strategy and contributed to revised brand guidelines.
Brandon Nordell, Business Analytics and Reporting Intern – Battle Creek Distribution Machine Learning Model
Brandon built a machine learning model from the ground up. The tool is designed to use past data to more accurately predict the amount of material and product that will travel from our Battle Creek, MI production facility to our distribution centers.
Claire Requet, Ecommerce Marketing and Sales Intern – Online Retailer Content
Claire created enhanced content for our online retail partners, including Walmart, Target, and Amazon. Enhanced content provides compelling product information and images that are published on retailers’ websites.
Dan Deis, Packaging R&D Intern – New Packaging Liner
To address potential materials shortages in the future, Dan worked to create an alternative box liner structure for our bag and box cereals. This project was part of our broader efforts to innovate our packaging and product more responsibly.
