Thank You 2024 Summer Interns

Post Consumer Brands interns

We’re grateful to have hosted 30 interns this summer as a part of our 2024 internship program. Located across Post Consumer Brands manufacturing sites, offices and departments, our interns were immersed into the business to gain real-world experience.

About Our Summer Internships

Throughout the summer, our interns participated in a variety of different projects. They also met with our executive leaders through a lunch-and-learn series and participated in several social events, including volunteering with a local non-profit in the Twin Cities. At the end of their internship, each intern presented an overview of the projects worked on during their time, including key learnings.

Hear from Our Interns

As their summer with Post Consumer Brands ends, we asked our interns to share their experience and highlights of their weeks with us. From managing projects to improving sustainability, here are just a few examples of what our interns had to share:

Brecken Thomas, Supply Chain Intern, Lakeville

“I am proud of gaining confidence in presenting my knowledge to team members and others in the company. Everyone is very ready to help with any questions that I have. I have not been turned away from any question and everyone that I have asked to talk with has made time for me. It is a culture that wants to continuously improve their processes and help everyone. Post has equipped me to start on this track by giving me projects that I lead and have responsibility for, including making impactful changes to big data sets. I have loved the opportunities that I have been given this summer.”

Nicolas Martinez-Ortega, Engineering Intern, Battle Creek

“I’ve learned a ton about project management, leadership, and about how to overcome mental blocks this summer at Post. Everyone wants to leave the same way they came in. Safety is a priority! My goal for the future is to add value to my role. Post has taught me about what it means to communicate and work effectively as a team.”

Kate Groskreutz, Marketing Insights and Strategy Intern, Lakeville

“I have noticed that the people that you work with genuinely want to help you learn as much as possible – people care about you and your future. I am proud of gaining confidence in presenting my knowledge to team members and others in the company.”

Kyle Nordling, Corporate Communications Intern, Lakeville

“Throughout this summer I was able to feel like I was a full-fledged member of the Corporate Communications team. Following this internship, I am hoping to get a full-time role at a CPG company. The culture at Post Consumer Brands is so welcoming, encouraging, and fun, people love what they do and they love what we make.”

Cole Deevers, Engineering Intern, Jonesboro

“Post has prepared me for the engineering field by allowing me to dive deeper into important problem-solving analysis in just three months. My next goal is to start off in a role that allows for similar rapid-learning opportunities to get acquainted with my future possibilities as fast as I can. The culture is relaxed enough to not be stressful while simultaneously encouraging constant improvement and advancement – a very good balance.”

Lexi Schmidt, eCommerce Marketing Intern, Lakeville

“Post has equipped me by giving me tasks that require working through ambiguity! It truly has prepared me for work in any environment as I took full responsibility for the work at hand. Everyone is SO willing to help you succeed and grow to where you envision yourself! One quote that will stick with me is ‘Happiness in the pursuit.’ I feel proud that I delivered content in my final presentation that is applicable to the current needs of the brand!”

Karl Jorgenson, Sales Effectiveness Intern, Lakeville

“Post is a very inclusive and light-hearted environment, which as an intern, makes the pressure to perform decrease. At an executive lunch somebody shared ‘you shouldn’t title chase when looking for new jobs or looking to grow your career,’ which I will remind myself throughout my career.”

Alyssa Choi, Pilot Plant Intern, Lakeville

“I loved getting to go to events with the other interns. The Twins game was particularly my favorite. I was encouraged by a team member when I was nervous about running a test at our Cambell Mill.”

We thank each one of our interns for spending their summer with us. We wish them well as many head back to their college campuses this fall to continue their education and hope that they’ll carry what they’ve learned with us this summer into future roles.
