Annual Battle Creek Cereal Sale Brings Community Together for a Great Cause

This National Cereal Day on March 7, employees from Post Consumer Brands and WK Kellogg Co. teamed up for the annual Battle Creek Cereal Sale. This fundraiser benefits the local community through the United Way of South Central Michigan (UWSCMI).

Employees in Battle Creek, Michigan from Post Consumer Brands and WK Kellogg Co teamed up to support the United Way of South Central Michigan.

The sale featured 10,000 boxes of donated cereal from both companies and allowed attendees to purchase their favorite brands for just $2 per box. Every dollar raised went directly to UWSCMI, to help fund programs in the community at Battle Creek.

“With our core mission to make lives better by making delicious food available for all, we at Post were very excited to join WK Kellogg Co. and United Way to bring joy to the community through hometown support of such a great cause,” said Todd Person, Site Vice President at Post’s Battle Creek Plant. “We love the connection that it brings to our employee volunteers, building that community spirit while making lives better.”

Even the cold rain didn’t deter the crowd! People lined up for a chance to purchase their favorite cereals. By the end of the day, PEBBLES™, Honey-Comb™ and Honey Bunches of Oats™ were completely sold out! Any remaining boxes were donated to the Bear Necessities Student Food Pantry, which supports students facing food insecurity.

The success of this year’s event demonstrates the power of partnership and the deep commitment to the Battle Creek community. Thank you to all volunteers and community members who helped make a difference—one box of cereal at a time!
