Shredded Wheat Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients
- 5 cups apple slices peeled
- ½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon instant tapioca
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 ½ cups Post® Shredded Wheat Original Spoon Size cereal crushed
- ¼ cup (½ stick) margarine melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, mix apples, ¼ cup of the sugar, lemon juice, instant tapioca and cinnamon in large bowl. Let stand 10 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, combine Original Shredded Wheat Spoon Size cereal, remaining ¼ cup sugar and margarine. Stir until well blended.
- In an ungreased 1 ½-quart baking dish, spread apple mixture. Sprinkle evenly with cereal topping.
- Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until topping is browned and apples are tender when pierced with fork.
