Shredded Wheat apple crisp recipe

Ingredients 

  • 5 cups apple slices peeled
  • ½ cup firmly packed light brown sugar divided
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon instant tapioca
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 ½ cups Post® Shredded Wheat Original Spoon Size cereal crushed
  • ¼ cup (½ stick) margarine melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix apples, ¼ cup of the sugar, lemon juice, instant tapioca and cinnamon in large bowl. Let stand 10 minutes.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine Original Shredded Wheat Spoon Size cereal, remaining ¼ cup sugar and margarine. Stir until well blended.
  4. In an ungreased 1 ½-quart baking dish, spread apple mixture. Sprinkle evenly with cereal topping.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until topping is browned and apples are tender when pierced with fork.
